Nouel Riel is a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans writing, directing, performance, symbolist painting, and experimental film photography. Drawing from Hermetic alchemy, Jungian depth psychology, and mysticism, her work explores transformation, inner states of the psyche, and the symbolic language that shapes human experience through visually driven, psychologically intimate storytelling. A former high-level competitive gymnast, Riel earned a full-ride scholarship to the University of Minnesota before receiving her BFA from Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Her paintings and photographs have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Carpet Blue, which she wrote, directed, produced, and stars in, marks her directorial film debut. She lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
